An errant night. A few too many drinks. An attempt to drive home. South Dakota faced a rash of deaths do to underage drinking and driving, and needed help.

A case study in effectiveness, the Parents Matter campaign for Prairie View Prevention brought to light the pain of parents who had lost their children due to drunk driving-related accidents.

What’s more, it has proven effective. Since the campaign’s launch in 2006, fatalities have gone down every year.
